Orca – the A-grade predator of the ocean which can be seen in Australia waters. Bremer Bay is located on the south coast of Western Australia, between Albany and Esperence. In recent times, it has risen in prominence as the gateway to one of the ocean’s great wonders; the Bremer Canyon.

Every January to April, the region provides the amazing opportunity to reliably encounter Killer Whales (Orca), the ocean’s undisputed apex predator and the largest toothed predator to have ever lived, the Sperm Whale. Meanwhile, it is also the paradise for Lon-finned Pilot Whales, Beaked Whales and Blue Whale. For those marine life enthusiastics focus on specific wildlife experiences such as whale watching, you couldn’t find better destinations than Bremer Bay in Australia.

It is also a birdwatchers paradise, with a large range of seabirds including albatross, shearwater and petrel species, often feeding on scraps of giant squid floating on the surface.

Australia may be famous for its exotic wildlife, but the small Kangaroo Island off South Australia’s coast contains dozens of species not found anywhere else in the country due to its longtime isolation from the mainland. More than a third of Kangaroo Island’s landmass is reserved for wildlife conservation areas and national parks.

Wombats, kangaroos, and koalas are among the 1,500 different animals that live in the Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park in the middle of the island. More than 50 Kangaroo Island plant species cannot be found anywhere else in the world.

The country’s third-biggest colony of sea lions make their home at Seal Bay Conservation Park, which attracts about 110,000 visitors per year. The park has an easily accessible boardwalk where visitors can observe the seals at their own pace in addition to daily and twilight guided tours.

Kakadu National Park is one of the world’s most astonishing natural reserves. With abundant wildlife and indigenous history, the area is World Heritage listed for both its natural and cultural significance.

Kakadu is located on the north edge of Australia’s northern coastal line, which is about 170 km – 2 hours drive southeast from Darwin, the capital city of Northern Territory. The national park is famous for birdwatching especially in the dry season when many unique birdlife can be found in this area including Magpie Geese, Whistling Ducks and Great Egrets.

Saltwater Crocodiles, A Grade predator on the land can also be found  at Kakadu. Now visitors can watch them closely in their own natural environment. Along these vast floodplains, it is common to see Paperbark (Malaleuca) forests that provide habitat for Agile Wallabies and nesting sites for birds such as the Black-necked Stork (Jabiru).

Rottnest Island sits just a 30-minute Rottnest Express ferry ride from Perth. Turquoise waters, white sandy beaches and adorably cute quokkas roaming the island – what more could you ask for?

Australia’s quokkas are among the cutest marsupials around.
