Great White Shark and Blue Fin Tuna update

Forget the gimmicks, what we see is real!! I have had two of the most kick ass days for shark action -four sharks a day, six  different sharks in total and 34 happy faces!! We have been getting into the shark requests (this is our public request list trialling your favourite songs on Great whites). We are having mixed success however Justin Beiber is definitely out (no surprise there). Kylie, we have decided will work better live in the cage after all, what discerning red blooded shark wouldn’t want a bite

out of that. Of course anything by seal :) goes down a treat. But still in number one slot is Acca Dacca with their stinging guitar riffles and blood pumping beats, these sharks are getting there rock on.

We are having an excellent spell of weather at the moment in Port Lincoln in South Australia. It feels like Spring is here, the weather is on the improve and it looks like being a cracker of a summer for tourism in the area. During the last week of excellent weather we had the pleasure of over half of the 250 participants in this year’s men’s and women’s country Hockey Championships out on our Swim With Tuna tour. Braving the close to Arctic temperatures in the bay at the, getting close up with our southern Blue fin Tuna. I still love the squeals of excitement as people do this dive for the first time, and that’s not just the girls there are a few guys out there who drop one occasionally.

A big thanks to the Victorian men’s and Umpires out there that know how to honour their local culture and fishermen- the beer went down a treat and I am glad to know that the message is getting across!
Cheers for now

Matt

  1. LOVED the swim w the tuna that Rob K and I did on 21 March 2012.What a buzz! What great personalised service, and so professional yet w so many happy grins (aka perma-smiles..I’m a bit loose w my grasp of my native language! on the dials of all involved.Yep,not just smiles on the dials of every single tour guest, there were dinkum smiles on each of the lean yet seamlessly team-oriented,hardworking crew of 3-comprising Skipper,2IC,and cafe chic multitasker(..err,’scuse me,but I’d never have been bold enuff to write that bit if that other 2IC of an even bigger floating boat,a certain gent speaking to the PA system of the Lucky Bay to Wallaroo ferry 2 days later, hadn’t used this rabidly sexist term of endearment when complimenting their own sole female staffer..)and of course EVERY customer left happy and in my case euphoric, keen to do it all again, and again…

  2. We got some rather grainy(my ISO was set @ 1600)but still very good digital images of the tuna frenzy,I’ll email a selection of mine if you can make the process as simple/user friendly as possible(I’m an IT dinosaur is all)
    Cheers
