Adventure Bay Charters has been awarded South Australia’s best Adventure Tourism experience at last Friday night’s 2011 South Australian Tourism Awards.
More than 550 people from the tourism industry attended the black tie event, which saw winners and medallists awarded during a gala dinner at the Adelaide Convention Centre.
Overall, 28 awards were presented to businesses and individuals judged to be the most outstanding in each category.
This is the second consecutive time that Adventure Bay Charters has one this prestigious award and Matt and Tracy Waller are thrilled that they have been recognised for their love of tourism and providing their ‘swim with’ experiences to visitors from across the globe.
“This year has been extremely busy for us, some of the highlights have been travelling to Europe to promote Adventure Bay Charters and the Eyre Peninsula at New Product Workshop UK as well as several other interstate visits. We are so proud that for several years now we have been adding a new experience to our list of flagship products. We love running our own business and this award is not only a reflection on Adventure Bay Charters but the hard work from other local Port Lincoln tourism operators who are working with us to put this town on the map” said Matt Waller.
This year has been one of the most successful years for Adventure Bay Charters creating its most exciting new experience yet, ‘Swim with Great Whites.’ The first ever Advanced Eco certified and baits free Great White Shark Cage Diving experience has proved a hit, revolutionising the Australian Shark Cage Diving industry in South Australia.
Adventure Bay Charters was also most honoured to receive a Silver Award in the New Tourism Development Category for its new Swim with Great Whites product.
In the last month Adventure Bay Charters has won 4 separate awards, two in the Advantage SA Regional Awards and 2 in the South Australian Tourism Awards and looks forward to promoting itself internationally to further increase visitation to South Australia and the Eyre Peninsula.
